Pontefract Castle and Visitors Centre
Remains of medieval Royal Castle, which was one of the most important fortresses in Britain. The Visitors Centre has an education room which includes displays on the Castle’s history and a shop with gifts and refreshments. In the Magazine visitors can see where prisoners were kept during the Civil War in the seventeenth century and the graffiti they left behind.
