King’s Own Royal Regiment Museum

The museum covers the history of the King’s Own Royal Regiment (4th Regiment of Foot) from its raising in 1680 through to the present day. Displays cover the Napoleonic, Crimean and Abyssinian Campaigns of the 19th Century, and the Boer War, Great War and Second World War of the 20th Century.

The museum’s website is a fascinating resource on the history of the regiment and contains over one thousand photographs from the collection.

    The Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday and Mondays in the Summer School Holidays from 10am to 5pm and admission is free. The museum is closed between Christmas and New Year.
