This lovely museum is housed in Helston’s historic Market Buildings. It is spread over five display halls on three floors, and the thousands of objects will keep you fascinated and entertained. The museum is free to visit and family friendly – including four legged members! There is even a children’s play area, gift shop and a delightful little pop up café.

The museum has one of the largest Cornish social history collections and ranges from a 5 tonne cider press to a 1950s kitchen. Come and learn about Helston’s famous inventor Henry Trengrouse, whose rocket lifesaving apparatus saved thousands of lives at sea, imagine what it was like in a Victorian classroom, meet Henry the parrot and see if you can spot our smallest object – made from a lion’s tooth!
