An interesting piece in the current Country Life mentions the value of 1937 Sovereigns with the head of Edward VIII.  Apparently there are as few as 7 that exist and their value is in region of half a million pounds.  The obverse is interesting as it was designed by Benedetto Pistrucci in 1817.  We know Pistrucci from the The Waterloo Medal he was commissioned to make by the Prince Regent in 1819 – see http://ageofrevolution.org/200-object/dies-of-the-pistrucci-waterloo-medal/

But before this he had been commissioned to design the coin of The Sovereign which exists to this day.  However, to buy one to day you will have to pay something like £480.  The Royal Mint will fix you up.
