Serjeant Gibson and I went to see the exhibition of cartoons and other images of Napoleon at the British Museum yesterday.  The whole place was packed wNapith tourists but I am gladNapoleon to say this free exhibition was open and airy. So with some leisure we were able to inspect the way they lampooned the Great Ogre in those days.  In these two images is a contrast, one in how the great man saw himself at his coronation and the other how the British Public saw him. Neither are accurate as for example he was in fact not a pygmy but of average height of that time. The exhibition closes in mid April and if you can bear the amount of tourists its well worth a visit with a superb catalogue.
