I and Serjeant Gibson were in Wellington Barracks the other day and bumped  into the Great Duke.  It’s a fine sculpDuketure which had been in the forecourt of the Military Chapel in Caterham Barracks, which was turned into a very successful housing estate by Linden Homes in the late 1990s20150526_190724 (1). It was originally presented to the Barracks in Caterham in 1904 by the the then Commandant of the Guards Depot , Lt Col the Lord Glanusk Grenadier Guards and his Adjutant, Lieutenant Christie-Miller, Coldstream Guards. Who the sculptor was is not clear and it is not in the excellent book on all the paintings and sculptures of the Great Duke recently published.
