Very shortly the famous Abel Gance silent epic on Napoleon made in the 1927 will be re released as a DVD and Blu ray. This has been completed by the British Film Institute after a long and exhaustive search of cinema collections and libraries by the film historian Kevin Brownlow.
It is however five and half hours long and if you wish to see a preview have a look at the YouTube link on https://youtu.be/6504eRh5h6M.
The DVD will be available after November 21st from Amazon See: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Napoleon-4-Disc-DVD-Albert-Dieudonne/dp/B01J7WSFTE/ref=sr_1_sc_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1478344897&sr=1-2-spell&keywords=napoloeon.
Whether you ever have the time to sit through 5 hours plus is another matter but Serjeant Gibson of the 33rd can’t wait!
