20150510_095032This is an excellent volume which complements the 200 objects on the Waterloo 200 website. However there are some important differences. Gareth Glover, whose knowledge of the subject is encyclopaedic, has include several objects which are not on the website. For example the Forest of Soignes, an important landmark is not on the website, yet it is a significant location. Likewise the Prince of Orange’s horse, Wexy, although stuffed is included. This book, so well illustrated, is an excellent addition to a Waterloo 200 library and is well recommended at £25. It’s a fun book to browse for all ages and backgrounds.

Sir Evelyn Webb-Carter, Chairman of Waterloo 200, picks a new volume to feature each month. For more reading suggestions, see Waterloo 200 books.
