Queen’s Own Hussars Regimental Museum

Situated in the Heart of England and the Regiment’s historical recruiting area of Warwickshire & Worcestershire, the Regimental Museum of The Queen’s Own Hussars is located in the quiet Market Town of Warwick, and is situated on the High Street within The Lord Leycester Hospital Building.

The Collection is displayed to give a comprehensive history of the Regiment from its foundation in the late seventeenth century up to the present, with emphasise on both Horse and Tank warfare.

From the early battlefields of Dettingen & Waterloo to the present, the history of the Regiment is vividly recreated through the personal short stories of individuals serving at key moments and a mixture of real artefacts, equipment, documentation & weapons.

New displays employ the latest in computer technology showing the Regiment in the 20th Century, the change-over from horses to tanks, its decisive role at the battle of El Alamein in WW2 & its global peace-keeping role to the present.

There is a selection or interactive displays including a state-of-the-art reconstruction of an Afrika Korps Observation Post at the battle of El Alamein, there are artefacts & uniforms available for handling & dressing up as well as more educational material in family packs for both children & adults to enjoy.

The Regimental archives of The 3rd & 7th Hussars are held at the museum and may be viewed by appointment.

    Museum Openings are Tuesday through to Friday 1000-1600.
    The Museum will be open on all Bank Holidays.
    The Museum will operate reduced openings for Winter and will fully re-open at Easter 2015.
