A workshop for those interested in finding their way around 19th century poor law and workhouse archives.

This workshop is designed for those interested in finding their way around 19th century poor law and workhouse archives. This includes family, local and social historians as well as archivists employed at local archives.

It will look at the myriad of poor law records generated during this time and how they interlink to give a more rounded view of the experience of the nineteenth century poor/pauper.

Examples will be taken from the poor law collection at The National Archives as well as the collections found in country, borough and local record offices.
